COVID – 19 Friendly Guidelines Restaurants Are Following

Posted by Team QGTI on Jun 02, 2021

Eating out at restaurants is a great way to enjoy time with family or just to hang out with friends, but not everyone is enjoying this action as much as we once did. In 2020, the world changed and as COVID-19 became the subject of our everyday life, we had to adjust how we did everyday things such as eating out at our favorite restaurants. These days, restaurants throughout the world are adjusting to the needs of their customers and regard for their safety, so if you are ready to venture back out and start enjoying the restaurant experience once again, here are some of the precautions many establishments are implementing.

Limiting and Even Eliminating Inside Dining

Space tends to be the best option for those wanting to avoid contracting COVID-19. Depending on the level of COVID-19 potential in an area will impact your ability to simply walk into a restaurant and sit down to eat. According to CDC guidelines, restaurants in low risk locations can provide limited seating indoors, but high risk areas are only allowed to offer drive through, curbside, or delivery options to patrons.

Mask Mandates

We are beginning to see masks disappear as more people have the vaccine and numbers drop in certain locations, but mask mandates are still in place throughout the country in more populated areas. Masks are required in many restaurants and must be worn upon entering, when moving about the restaurant, and ordering. Naturally, it is impractical to wear a mask while actively eating.

Closures and Restricting Workers

One of the most unique things about the current pandemic is its overall effect on the restaurant industry. Generally, when you work for a restaurant, you are expected to show up to work even if you are feeling a little ill. These days, even a sniffle or cough can keep you from working. In the event the restaurant has a COVID-19 infection among staff, they are expected to close for up to 2 weeks and have all staff quarantine.

Sanitizing Measures

General cleaning between guests is expected in any restaurant, but in today’s world, cleaning measures are even more emphasized. Each table is carefully sanitized between guests and some tables are even completely closed to help emphasize social distancing practices. Additional sanitizing of equipment is in full effect and many restaurants are using disposable utensils and plates to further help alleviate the problem of cross contamination between guests.

Gentle Processing™

General sanitation practices can take a restaurant far in preventing food borne illnesses and ultimately keeping their customers happy, but more can be done with the help of Gentle Processing™. Even if a restaurant keeps their food as fresh as possible and invests heavily in keeping things clean, you do not know what the facility where the food was originally processed from is like. Is it clean? Is the food kept at the right temperature? Who is touching it? These questions cannot be answered, but with the help of Gentle Processing™, restaurants can use our products to ensure food is safe as it leaves the kitchen. Does your favorite restaurant use Gentle Processing™?
